Licensed Professional Counselor

My Approach

My approach has always been to treat each person as an individual. I identity as an eclectic counselor. Eclectic therapy is an open, integrative form of psychotherapy that adapts to the unique needs of each specific client, depending on the problem, the treatment goals, and the person's expectations and motivation. I do not prescribe in the cookie cutter approach to treatment. I take the time to learn about each person and assist them in finding the best path and treatment that is right for them. I strive to make my office a comfortable environment where each individual will feel relaxed and open to explore their issues. I offer both in person and telehealth counseling.

Anxiety
Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health issue in the United States. They are a group of related conditions, each having unique symptoms. However, all anxiety disorders have one thing in common: persistent, excessive fear or worry in situations that are not threatening. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Response Prevention are the counseling treatment of choice for anxiety. Stress and Relaxation Techniques will be taught.
Depression
Depression is more than just feeling sad, down or blue; it’s a serious mental health condition that requires understanding, support, and treatment. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Interpersonal therapy (IPT) and Psychodynamic therapy are the counseling treatments of choice.

Trauma
Trauma can include many events, such as military combat, assault, an accident, or a natural disaster. Symptoms include re-experiencing, avoidance, cognitive and mood changes, and arousal symptoms. Treatments include Cognitive Processing Therapy and Exposure Therapy.
